The Mom Jean

Happy first of October! The leaves will definitely be turning a deep, burnt orange colour soon and that means that we’re really up there into Autumn! I still cannot fathom how fast these final months of 2016 are passing by. So, before we get to the gritty, cold winter weather, I quickly wanted to pay a visit to Richmond Park and enjoy what is left of the London warmth.

Richmond park offers you a beautiful taste of the wilderness. We didn’t get too far into the park as it is relatively large! But, for what we managed to see… it was utterly stunning and I’m excited to discover more of it. Just look at the breathtaking view… and this was only within minutes of entering through the gates.

For this blog post, I quickly wanted to show you the outfit that I put together for this excursion.

You know how they say that history has a way of repeating itself? Yeah, well, it’s true. And that doesn’t always have to mean a bad thing! In the world of fashion… it can mean being able to recycle well loved styles from back in the day and adding your own modern twist to it. So for today, we’re rocking the mom jean… about time right?! What I love about them is that they add a very vintage, 80’s flavour to any outfit! So here is how I styled mine… with what I would call, a preppy twist.

Top: Forever 21

Jeans: H&M

Belt: H&M

Bag: Long Champ

Shoes: Clarks

23.jpg5.jpgThese jeans are extremely comfortable to wear. You can go from A-Z in a breeze when wearing them, as they come in a nice fit. These ones are from H&M and what caught my attention was the two-toned design. The darker and lighter shades of blue denim helps to add dimension to the outfit and also elongates the legs- (A bonus if you ask me!) I then added this “Milk” top from Forever 21. I think that a simple black tee with a white milk carton logo like this one, is a fun way to spruce up a vintage- like piece, while a pair of white slip ons ties in the whole look together… plus, they’re just my go to, as they’re easy to pop on and you can walk miles in them.

As the days begin to get shorter, sunsets come faster. Here, you can see the moment that I got caught in the Golden hour, which is when daylight turns a beautiful warm and toasted golden colour.

And what better way to end, but next to a white picket fence! I thought that this setting matched my outfit perfectly, also highly adding a Wisteria Lane vibe…

That’s it for now.

See you very soon on my next post!
